[q] Gallery 2.0
We're currently trialling a new way of sharing photographs from group walks and socials using Flickr.
Check out the Gallery version 2.
We're using Flickr tags to organise the photos, so use the left hand list of The Top Tags to browse the different sets.
The old gallery page is still available.
What does it do?
- Members will be able to upload their own digital photos to the gallery - any number, any size.
- Members will be able to add multiple comments to photos (helpful information or atrocious puns).
- It allows you to do groovy things like view sets of photos as a slideshow.
- Fundamentally it speeds up the process of getting the group's photos online and makes them more interactive once they're there.
(Both photos and comments will be moderated by Webmaster Simon. Anyone posting offensive photos or comments will have them deleted and may be banned from making further submissions).
How do I submit photos?
- To submit photos you need to have an account with Flickr. This is totally free; there is more information about Flickr and how to sign up on Flickr's website.
- Join the Take A Hike - Gallery group. This can only be done by invitation, so email Webmaster Simon, quoting your Ramblers Association number, to ask to be invited.
- You'll receive two emails: one from Flickr enabling you to join the Take A Hike - Gallery group and another from Webmaster Simon with instructions on how to submit photos.
- Start uploading your photos!
If all the above seems like too much bother, you can still email photos to Webmaster Simon. Although there may be a delay before they are added to the gallery.
Feedback
We'd really appreciate your feedback on how this new gallery is working out, so please email constructive comments and questions to Webmaster Simon.
